• Tomorrow Heidi will be in to run a game called "Salmon Sense" to learn how Salmon find their way.

Science Fair Projects

Dear Families,

Today was the last day of fantastic Focus Studies.

We are beginning to get organized for Science Fair now. Today I showed the class a website called Science Buddies that has lots of possible science fair projects and a questionnaire to narrow down the possibilities based on age and interests. The link is added to the links column to the right. I passed out Science Fair contracts for students to fill out and go over with you. A copy of the contract is posted above in pages.

Due dates:

• Topic to Bette- Tuesday, Jan. 30
• Sign up for Science Fair online- Feb. 16
• Science Fair- March 1
•  Present to class- Feb. 27 or 28

Tuesday: Swim 10:55-11:35

Wednesday: Vocal Music 9:35-10:15, Spanish 1:25-1:55,

            Library/Tech 2:30-3:15

Thursday: Library/Books 9:35-10:15, Gym 2:40-3:10

Friday: Vocal Music 9:35-10:05

Welcome back from Winter Break!

Dear Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful winter break!

Tomorrow the children will enter a transformed classroom! New furniture was delivered and I was able to do some trading to fine tune our class set up. The kids will be surprised!

In addition, first thing in the morning we will participate in a workshop provided by the University Musical Society to prep the kids for our field trip on Friday to a youth performance of Urban Bush Women. Watch for a permission slip to sign.

We will also be discussing the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday, Jan 15 there will be no school in honor of his birthday. I will be exploring the concept of leadership with the class.

January 22-26 we will have Focus Studies, so watch for more information in the Wednesday packet. A selection sheet will come home for each student to select 5 Focus Studies they are interested in.
